Buddhists and Disaster in Japan

http://politifi.com/news/Churches-In-Japan-Devastated-By-Earthquake-1751602.html

The article above explains the natural disasters that have occurred in Japan. It also explains that many temples/churches have been wiped out. At this time, many Buddhists must be meditating to relax and find peace amidst such chaos. The Christians must be praying for the well-being others and for themselves, to the Messiah . In another article that I read, it asked the question, “What would Siddhartha Gautama (creator of Buddhism) do if he had found out what happened in Japan?”

Most people answered saying that he would meditate for a long period of time to find an answer to end other peoples’ sufferings.

What would you answer to this question?

    It is very interesting Ash! I am very bad at guessing but if Siddhartha Gautama was alive, I think he would have called for humanity, asking to wealthy countries to donate to Japan to re-construct buildings… I also think that he would meditate.

    He would grasp some sand and put it into a bowl and say, life is like this sand, the one understands it will find happiness and then he would disapier into a hotell. and let us dum people try to solve that is not for solving. Everthing is an ilusion, we make our own reality, We always strive to get answers from others, rather then from our selfs. Whats happend cannot be undone. We can crie for our sadness and remember that the life is not forever and we should really enyoj our life to the max. No man has all the answers, gods and angels lives in heaven not on earth. We have to find it in our self and stop looking for the strange qoutes as the sand and the bowl, just makes us dumb even to trie to solv it, it wastes our time and makes us forget so the wound can heal by it self, but the day we want to confront it we will find hell becuse it was just digged down, it never disapierd. The questions are out there, but the answers are inside

    I don’t think he will start meditating for a long time to find out solution.
    I think he’ll help people who suffered during the disaster and ask everyone to be together to get out of the situation first.
    When everything will calm down then he’ll teach them how to get detached from the things they lost during the disaster so that they won’t get hurt futher due to past thoughts;
    because I know that Buddha believes in first feeding a hungry person that has come to him than to give him updesh. Because at that time the most important thing is to kill his hunger without which he won’t be able to concentrate to and grasp the updesh.
